Our Story

DESIGNER WHEY was created by NEXT Proteins, Inc., a company founded in 1988 to develop and produce superior whey products for fitness-minded Americans. DESIGNER WHEY has been the top-selling whey protein since its introduction in 1993. As the maker of DESIGNER WHEY we are located in Carlsbad, California.

DESIGNER WHEY is the result of one of the, if not thee, most extensive privately funded ongoing whey protein research and development effort in the world. Since 1993, we have spent more than $10 million dollars in innovative Research & Development, clinical testing and product development.

OUR LEGACY

NEXT Proteins was incorporated in Carlsbad, California in 1988 by David Jenkins, a three-time Olympic Silver Medalist from Great Britain who remains the company President and CEO.
