As you may have known my last blog was about signs of a bad trainer. I let myself allow another trainer to take control of my strength and conditioning while preparing for a figure competition. It was one of the hardest things for me to do but I thought it would be fun and motivating for me. It turned out to be a nightmare because my trainer lacked the knowledge of what I needed to be doing and I knew it. I should have stopped training with him as soon as he couldn’t remember if it was a leg day or arm day for me.  :( I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt but I was wrong. I did bad in my contest and was embarrassed.

I recently started training with another trainer who is the complete opposite of my last one. He has traits that I try to promote for my clients. Such as:
*He knows how to spell my name…weird but…really this is important
*He actually spots me and doesn’t take his eyes off me when I’m lifting
*He doesn’t make fun of anybody at the gym while training with me
*There is no small talk with other people
*He knows exactly what I’m doing for the day and knows when I’m getting too tired and need to stop before I hurt myself
*He is ON TIME!!! Yesssssss
*He makes me feel out of shape…oh yes…this one is hard for me to write!! But I’m admitting it and it’s a good thing!!!!
*He is super picky on my form which I think is the BEST one!!!!
Thank you Jason! :)
If these don’t make sense read my last blog.

I have another contest coming up March 20th. I’ve been training with Jason for a few months now and I’m totally hooked. It’s not because I don’t know what to do because I know what to do. It’s the support he gives me during our sessions and the motivation. He pushes my threshold every time we workout and it’s an amazing feeling!! With him I have realized I can do more than what I thought was possible. If you never have workout with a trainer my first reaction would be DO IT!!! But I advise everyone to watch the trainers in your gym first with their existing clients. If they have these qualities that I have written about then your off to a great start. Next week is a big week for me because I will start working harder and drinking more of my Designer Whey protein. Which helps me with my energy/recovery/cravings/muscle building! I believe in this product so much I can’t imagine my life without now!!!

But before that I will be racing in the Carlsbad Half Marathon this Sunday and will be drinking my Orange Mango along the whey…lol I mean way! I did this race last year with my Orange Mango and love the way it helps me through. It’s easily digested and gets into my system fast without any stomach issues!!! Wish me luck! :)

Trainer Becs here reporting in on my training!

This is me last week, the week of Aug. 24th. I have realized that even if I just take a sip of some sort of Designer Whey product it helps me out with my cravings. I crave sweets like it’s my job too! :)

I’ve been eating six small meals a day and putting in Designer Whey whenever I crave the sweets and always BEFORE and AFTER my workouts. Every meal I eat I have a protein, 6oz and a veggie, 1 cup. I won’t eat any kind of bread product unless its my oatmeal in the morning. Bread will make my stomach puffy and I can’t have that for my contest. Eating the protein and veggie combo as many times as I do makes my body able to burn more calories because it has to work at digesting it. Drinking the protein before and after my workouts are easier to digest and won’t take as long to get the nutrients to my muscles. If you eat solid foods to close before working out then all your blood goes to your digestive system instead of your muscles and you feel weak or like you just can’t function in the gym…not good. So it’s best to get a liquid in.

I’ll be doing some long cardio sessions this coming week as well to trim off some more fat and will drink my protein water during!!! Pictures will come soon!!!

Trainer Becs reporting in on my training for the Tournament of Champions Figure Competition  coming up on Sept. 12th! I finally got up the nerve to send a photo of me what I looked like a few weeks ago. I’m really self concious and just haven’t sent a photo of myself but I thought it would be good to show what Designer Whey has done for me and how it has helped me to transform my body. I took it by myself so it’s kind of a funny pic…oh well. This photo is of me 5 weeks before contest time. I’ll be sending a 3 week photo and then a final one as well. Nothing has helped me more to train for this and I can’t believe it’s almost time for me to compete. I have used every Designer Whey product to help me through these past 12 weeks I have been training.

I use the powder in the jug, orange mango , with water.
Before my workout I will drink a whole Protein Water   or half of the Protein Blitz  . Then drink either or after my workouts and sometimes during. I love all the flavors and use them all.

When I’m craving something sweet I use the Desginer Whey Biggest Loser Protein To Go Packs  ( raspberry  and blueberry ) and mix it with one cup of soy milk. The milk helps me to fill up so I’m not hungry.

When I want to go out with friends to dinner or any kind of function I take my To Go Packs of the Orange Mango  and Pomegranate . I recently went to Hawaii and took a whole bunch of these with me and it helped me the entire week not to cheat!!!

This amazing company has helped me these past 9 weeks with muscle building, hunger control and energy! Thank you Designer Whey ! I will have photos coming next week to show me at 3 weeks out!

I just finished the America’s Finest City Half Marathon  this past weekend. What a great race but will not reveal my time because I just did it for fun and not for time…sorry all you runners that would have liked to know. :)

I want to comment that I did train for this race drinking my Designer Whey Protein Waters every single weekend for the past two months and not once did my protein let me down during my training nor my race!! I drank my protein about every 3 miles and WoW did it make me feel great since race day you have all that anxiousness/worry/stress and so on! This protein gave me my energy back especially since I had to get up at about 3am to eat a little something and head down to San Diego. I was so tired but my drink helped me through. I love this stuff and I can’t say it enough!
After the race Designer Whey was there handing out drinks…yessssss….free drinks….I took a couple and drank it while I was searching for my car. This took longer than expected and I’m embarrassed to say that it took me about 45 minutes to find. Wow was that the longest 45 minutes ever and I needed to eat because I was drained and thank goodness I got those proteins because I instantly felt recovered and eyesight back to working. ;) So my Designer Whey helped me to my car and recovered my body so I could drive home. I couldn’t have done it without it!

Being afraid comes natural and sometimes unexpected and unwanted. As a fitness professional I have come to the conclusion that we all get afraid no matter what your fitness level is. I’m in training right now for the Tournament of Champions Figure Competition  coming up September 12th and the Border State Classics Figure Competition  coming in Oct. I’ll go on stage and be judged and critized on my body and presentation…but that’s not what is bothering me at this point. It’s swallowing my pride and getting some help on my workouts. I know what I’m doing but I just need a little spotting and extra support.

I’m wondering if everyone feels like this… afraid or even embarassed I must say. But I know even Lance Armstrong has a coach so why can’t I or why can’t anybody?

I went through my very first personal training session and it was so hard for me not to control what I was going to be doing. I had to give it all to my trainer and just focus on building my muscles and connecting my mind and body into the workout. Much harder than I thought but nice to not have to think about it.  I must say though I worked really hard and have been hungry all day and I mean ALL DAY! I searched all day for that comfort food because I’ve had nerves going all day about this sessions and start drinking on my Designer Whey drinks. Talk about a new comfort food… who would have thought a protein drink to comfort me AND to fuel my body for tomorrows TWO A DAY workout? I know I can’t do it without my drinks and I just want to say that having all these emotions going through me today my protein has relieved some of my tension and anxiety. It’s strange how this protein has helped me in so many ways. It’s multifunctional!!!!!!!

Attention All Parents!
First of all I give props to you that have kids…what a hard job. I do have a niece and nephew though and that is who my story is about!

I was recently visiting my nephew who is 8 and my niece who is 5. I’m never around kids for longer than a few hours so I have no idea how hard it is to feed kids this age the right things until I was with my family for a week. Wow…kids are picky and especially when it comes to getting protein in there diets.
When I travel I always take along my Designer Whey protein to go packs and this trip I took the Biggest Loser Blue Blueberry and Red Raspberry. I drank my protein every morning and one morning I put it in a clear cup (Blue Blueberry) and my nephew asked if he could have some of my Kool-Aid…Hmmmmmm I’m thinking…he has no idea what is in my cup. I go along with it and give him some of my “Kool-Aid”. HE LIKED IT!!!!! The taste was so great that he actually finished my drink! I couldn’t believe it…after 3 days of consuming hardly any protein he just got in 12grams of protein (I mix two 2-go in one cup). My niece then noticed that he was drinking it and of course she wants to do what ever big brother does and so I give her some Raspberry and sure enough she liked it too!!

So, if your having a hard time giving your children the protein they need, try this…I couldn’t believe it and neither could my sister. We were so happy and she is now giving them the Biggest Loser Protein 2go Paks to help with their diets! TRY IT, it just might work for your kids as well!

Trainer Becs here reporting in! :)
I finally made the decision to train for another figure competition coming up in Sept. and one in Oct. This where I’ll be competing with other girls my height judged on my body’s symmetry, skin tone, muscle definition, leanness (but not too lean) and stage presentation. Doing these contests is quit difficult because 75% of my training is based on DIET! I have a weakness for sweets and have to fight through the cravings that can last for more than one day.( is this because I’m a chick? ) I get really irritable but every time I fight through a craving I know it just makes me stronger and makes me feel really good about myself. Which is one of the reasons I do this. I learn a lot about my body and what I can do! It’s also a goal and I need goals constantly or else I would be lazy and out of shape!

Since the beginning of the year I have just been training for half marathons and been drinking my Designer Whey protein to help me though my long runs and getting in my protein  for the day. Now I’m switching over to do figure competitions and for the past two weeks have been focusing on dieting and for the past two weeks have been craving SWEETS. So my option has been the Designer Whey Protein Waters…WOW what I huge help this has been for me! I didn’t think that I could fight through these intense cravings. When I was running I was eating what ever I wanted but now it’s controlled. So my body is going through withdrawals right now and has been very intense for me….does anyone else feel like this I’m wondering?  Is this what people feel like when they try to stop drinking caffeine? I have no idea but this week I have gotten headaches and my only SAVIOR has been my protein water!!! Now I know that I can do this and for the next 12 or so weeks I’m going to rely on my protein waters (Cranapple is really good) to get me through this and I’m very excited about it!!!

So my reason for writing is to let everyone know that if cravings are getting you…this stuff works…no joke…seriously I can’t do this without the Designer Whey Protein Waters!!!!!!!!!

Works Wonders!

Works Wonders!

Last week I was working out with one of my clients. He mentioned that he didn’t feel very mobile and his elasticity just wasn’t there.

We were about twenty minutes into the workout doing our usual warm up and stretches. Now, I’ve been working with this client for the past two years and know him very well. Not very often do I hear him say this to me. So, I decided to give him drink some Protein Water and regular H2O during the rest of his workout.
In the next thirty minutes he was very pleased at how much better he felt and was able to finish the workout. He was able to complete his hour and half workout with success and felt great afterwards!
A couple of days later we worked out again and again, I had him drink Protein Water during his workout. Not once did he say that his elasticity ‘just wasn’t there’. What a great product to be able to work so fast and digest really well!!!
The next time I have a client say that their elasticity isn’t working or they feel sluggish, I’m going to give them Protein Water and see what happens. Hopefully, I will have some great results in the next few weeks!

For those who have never done the La Jolla Half Marathon…a little tip…BRING SOMTHING TO DRINK!!! This is a brutal race that entails a nice selection of rolling hills for six miles then a grand hill (a.k.a. torrey pines torture chamber) for a nice two mile or so hill climb, which I blanked out at this point. After totally exerting myself (trying not to walk up the hill) up this not so nice hill I reach for my Designer Whey Protein I had mixed that morning to refresh and energize myself during this run. I take a few sips and have never tasted anything so good after “THE HILL”! Wow what recovery I had after drinking my protein and continued to drink for the remaining run. I would have never of made it if it wasn’t for my orange mango drink and the ability for my body to digest it very well. Thank you so much Designer Whey for making such a quality protein that I’m able to drink without getting an upset stomach or feeling nausious. I encourage all you runners out there to give this a try on long runs. You will feel the difference!
