Hey Friends,

Down 11.5 pounds in 4 weeks! Can I have a whoo-hoot? Thanks to a lot of hard work, a weight loss challenge at Nutrition ‘N’ More Club here in Grand Rapids Michigan and my Designer Whey Weight Control Protein Powders. Finally the scale is going down. My coach has me on 158 grams of protein and a 1500 calorie eating plan. I had a hard time getting in all my protein without getting too many calories so coach Dorris told me to add egg whites to my shake…I was like ewwww, I don’t think so. BUT….I did it after tasting a shake she made. I had no clue there was raw egg whites in my shake. Let me tell you the egg white makes your shake like cake batter. It is so creamy and dreamy you will not believe that it’s only 216 calories with a whooping 34 grams of protein. My eating plan consists of a shake for breakfast, a snack, then a shake for lunch, a snack and Normal Dinner and an after dinner snack. Now my snack maybe almonds or cheese stick with some apple.

Here are my 2 favorite recipes.

Cake Batter…YUM!

1 Cup Skim Milk

1 Serving of Designer Whey’s Weight Control French Vanilla Protein Powder

1 tablespoon Sugar Free Jello White Chocolate Flavor pudding

Dash of stevia or splenda

1 teaspoon real vanilla

2 raw egg white (optional)

8 ice cubes

dash of cinnamon

Smoothitize in a blender let sit 2-3 minutes and enjoy

Strawberry Cheese Cake

1 cup skim milk

1 serving of Designer Whey’s Strawberry Protein Powder

1 tablespoon Sugar Free Jello Cheese Cake flavor pudding

Dash of stevia or splenda

1 teaspoon real vanilla

dash of cinnamon

2 raw egg white (optional)

8 ice cubes

Smoothitize in a blender let sit 2-3 minutes and enjoy

Now get this…

216 calories

34 grams of protein power *w/out eggs 24 grams

2 grams of sugar

You can be very creative with 1 tablespoon of sugar free jello pudding there are tons of variety, it only ads 25 calories to the mix. I am going to see how it freezes, maybe our answer to ice cream?

Did you watch this week’s Biggest Loser make over show??? OH MY GOSH! The contestants look amazing. I think Daris looked the most different. Koli needs to ditch the glasses. They dressed him like a nerd, but a cute nerd! Mike is very handsome…I would have never thought that he would be that cute. Ashley is a doll, she has a tiny waist! Sunshine with her hair all straightened…WOW! I hope I have such an amazing transformation when I lose the weight I need to lose. Now that would be fun! I have no clue what I would look like I have never been thin.

Well friends I gotta get moving, have a challenge to win here! Not only that but I am on my whey to a new me.

If you want to follow me on facebook look up Camille Gibson. Oh, Nutrition N More is also on facebook, lots of great health advice there.

Have a great one! Try the recipes and let me know what you think.

Hello Friends!

Hope this finds you having a fabulous day! I did mention that I started a weight loss challenge and so far I have lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks, which is a great start but I have done these challenges before and know I need to tweak my plan so I get a little better result. I did get a stability ball and have really only sat on it at my desk; I can feel it working on my core! Who would have thought just sitting on a stability ball would make your core stronger? I plan to do on exercises on it as well once I get over the fear of rolling off it onto my butt! Now that would not be a pretty picture! lol

WOW! What an emotional Biggest Loser show this week. I feel for O’Neal losing his brother to cancer. That was very touching. I know you all shed a tear or 2 along with him. My daughter had that experience with her grandfather. My dad passed in the night and my daughter found out the next day after school. She was crushed that she did not get to say good-bye. My dad was my daughter Sue’s life…she did everything and went everywhere with him. That was 7 years ago. Time sure marches on.

I have been walking a lot and going to the gym. I even have walked over 20K steps in one day which equals 8.5 miles for me. I have realized that no one is going to step up and help me, no one is going to come knocking on my door to go walking, no one is going to meet me at the gym, no one is going to help me plan menus for the week, no one is going to say I better not eat that… I do not have close friends or family. So I have realized I am on my own with this weight loss and have accepted that fact. Now don’t get me wrong I have a lot of facebook supporters cheering me on, and designer whey friends and fast track to weight loss friends, and neighbor friends but it’s not the same as someone saying come on I will help you and support you, let’s get walking.

It’s also difficult as for me because I do not have a treadmill at home to help track what I am doing. I am waiting to hear if I won a contest to win a treadmill through the Life Fitness brand so send in the lucky vibes for me to win! If I win the weight loss challenge it will be for over 300 bucks that will pay for my Fast Track to Weight Loss with Kim Lyons membership. With the Gold membership you get a personal trainer maybe even Kim who was a Biggest Loser Trainer in the pass! The trainer will help monitor your diet, exercise, give you pep talks, encouragement and suggestions. But as most things in life it is not free.

One thing I am being faithful using is my Designer Whey Weight Control Powders. I love the taste and the energy I get from using this great product. I also carry the 2GO packets in my car so I have no excuse to stop and grab something to eat that probably is not good for me.

Thanks friends for reading this blog entry. I hope it inspires you to continue on your quest to be the healthiest you can be. Life is too short to waste time on unhealthy habits.

Take care, until next time.

Camille

Casting for Season 10 is in full swing. Recently, we were lucky enough to attend casting calls in Phoenix and Los Angeles where Ali Vincent greeted hopefuls and handed out sample packs of TBL Red Raspberry and Blue Blueberry Protein•2Go.

Both casting calls drew a record number of people who are eager to join the Season 10 cast of The Biggest Loser. Only 350-500 hopeful contestants were expected in Phoenix but over 700 came out. Los Angeles also drew a big crowd with more than 1,100 hopefuls! At both casting calls, Designer Whey greeted future contestants and fans, sharing information on the importance of protein in everyday diet. The Biggest Loser protein is an integral part of daily nutrition on the Biggest Loser Ranch. As the show’s contestants are eliminated weekly, Designer Whey provides each contestant with protein powder to help them achieve their weight loss and fitness goals. Designer Whey is excited to be part of the life changing journey for many Biggest Loser contestants and hopefuls.

Our own Camille Gibson, a contributing blogger for… Designer Whey, recently braved a cold and rainy Detroit day for her chance to get on the Biggest Loser, Season 10. A big fan of the show, Camille’s got what it takes to not only be a star contestant, but she has the will and determination to go all the way! Good Luck Camille! Wish Camille Good luck on her Designer Whey blog page HERE >

So what do you all think of the drama on the Biggest Loser the last 2 weeks? Sure has been full of emotions and excitement. A lot of people hate Melissa, but I myself embrace her strong will and determination.

Hey Friends,

A beautiful day few days here in Michigan! Sunny over 70 degrees but don’t get too excited…this time of the year weather changes every hour! Yes it’s supposed to snow this week!

So what do you all think of the drama on the Biggest Loser the last 2 weeks? Sure has been full of emotions and excitement. A lot of people hate Melissa, but I myself embrace her strong will and determination. People forget she struggles with weight. She has been blessed with being able to have the opportunity to be on the show and frankly if I got on the show I too would do whatever it took to stay there. Melissa is a lawyer so $250,000 is not that much money in her eyes…she is there to change her life and doing a great job too! I have read all over facebook and twitter the horrible things people say about and to Melissa; mean and hurtful things as well. Shame on you! Did you ever think that maybe her tough attitude is to protect herself from gaining weight again? Maybe she has to take an “I’m gunna do this for me attitude”. Geez people have a heart! Terrible things said like calling her a beast…that’s just not right.

Well, Friends, I started a weight loss challenge with my daughter. It cost us $35.00 each and $25.00 of that goes in to a pot. The “biggest loser’ wins half the pot! It’s an 8 week challenge. I joked with a friend that if we were on the ranch we would lose 80 pounds! I bought a pedometer for my daughter and I and we ordered stability balls to replace our desk chairs. Sooooo drinking lots of water, increasing my protein, I am on my whey! My coach says I should have 168 grams of protein a day based on my weight, age and height… and that I should eat about 1700 calories a day to lose weight…. That blows my mind! I have been conditioned that I have to eat less and less to lose weight! I have a hard time getting it in my mind that I have to eat to lose weight! My coach has a saying to eat like a king for breakfast, a prince for lunch and a pauper for dinner. 2 small snacks and 2 protein shakes a day, (Designer Whey Protein of course!) I also have to write down everything I eat. My coach’s motto…if you bite it….write it. So I am on day one, have my pedometer on…I have to get walking! Only at 2000 steps… I just put it on a little while ago…hehehe

I hope you are all having a fabulous day using your designer whey!

Take Care,

Camille

Well Friends,

I know you cried this week watching The Biggest Loser. Holy cow! Sam is getting so buffed! That boy is a success already. Cheryl’s where they are now segment was incredible! Kayaking looks fun! I hope I get the same opportunity. I did go to the casting call in Detroit this past weekend and it was an incredible experience. I realized standing in line that there was over a million pounds of excess weight in that line. They will let everyone know by April 15th if you get a call by then or if you don’t get a call you will know if you get to be on the show or not.

I have a question. Does not our government see the desperateness and the need to make changes in the way we live in this country through these casting calls? Incredible pain and stories in that line for a chance to change is sad. Insurance companies will pay 10 grand plus for bypass surgery. How about 5 grand for sending someone to a place set up like the biggest loser ranch? A place where there are the doctors, psychologist, trainers, team support and equipment to get people like me on the right path? Noooooo lets pay thousands extra for prescriptions, surgery and recovery… Insurance will not pay for these services believe me I checked and like me, many obese people do not have the extra funds to gather together a team to help themselves.

Friends you know I have been working on me for a long time. My daughter and I decided to not eat after 7:30 at night…seems like an easy thing to do. It’s been hard! I am a night muncher and I have to catch myself all the time. I guess that is good being aware of how many times I reach to munch on something. Of course my daughter is happy to pipe up and say something… MOM! We are not suppose to eat after 7:30, why you looking in the frig?…lol… dang…caught again…so that is good to have a partner watching my back.

The other thing I am considering is getting a stability ball and put it at my desk. Bob Harper does it, the casting director do it so follow those who are fit and healthy! My weight loss has been inconsistent, I realize that but one thing that is consistent is Designer Whey Protein Powders. They are the best. Designer Whey took the time to create a FREE diet plan as well. All we have to do is follow it, add exercise and a healthy lifestyle. Seems so simple…maybe it is. Maybe, we make it difficult. Back at it friends…if anything…never give up!

Hey Friends!

Hope this finds you well and healthier then the day before. Did you enjoy the Olympics? I love the winter Olympics. It just amazes me the incredible things people can do on skis, snow boards and skates. I am also glad my favorite show is back on…The Biggest Loser! Did you know that there is also The Biggest Loser Show in Australia? I did not realize that Bob and Jillian are also there. What dedicated people.

Well, I have taken a leap of faith and am applying to be on the Biggest Loser Show. I am going to the Detroit open casting call March 13. For me the Biggest Loser is my hope and I want to have the opportunity to share that hope with others who are bound by their obesity like I am. See, I have never been thin…never ever…I do not know what it feels like or what I would look like thin. I have not been able to connect the eating, exercise and lifestyle to get it to work for me. I believe if I got the opportunity to be on the show I could connect it all together. Believe me I have tried…I have been on diets since I have been 8 years old…that is 34 years of my life! Do you know what happens to obese children? They become obese adults and tend to have their own obese children. It’s a vicious cycle to live in. It’s not my effort and yes I have a million excuses to go along with why I am fat.

It would be so cool to be drinking the Designer Whey Biggest Loser Protein Powder while on the show! I would be so geeked to do that! Whether I get on or not is not what matters. What matters is that I draw inspiration from the crowd of people who have just as much chance as me to be on the show. I heard in Chicago that 1000 people tried out. I think there should be Biggest Loser Shows in every town. This program brings miracles to desperate people seeking answers and hope. What’s sad is that our insurance companies will pay for us to have gastric bypass and not set up programs like the biggest loser ranch.

Oh it’s been a beautiful sunny week here is Michigan. So glad to say to my kids “Go out and play!” Opened up a few windows to let some fresh air in, felt so good. I have to admit to my friends who read this… I have not been to the gym in over 2 weeks! My excuse…I was in charge of our school carnival and was extremely busy. But now that the carnival is over, I got to get back to the gym! I have to figure a way to get some equipment at home so on the days I don’t have the time to go to the gym I could at least do a workout at home, I suppose I could do that anyway and should. One of the Biggest Loser winners, Bill Germanakos suggested like on the ranch get a doctor, therapist, nutritionist and trainers…just do it. Something to consider…putting together a team of people to help us. Of course my program must include Designer Whey. Designer Whey has supported my weight loss journey for a long time now and even though I have struggles with my weight all along they have always been there to suggest and give advice… Love these guys!

I need to keep going, get back on track, and figure this out. I am about to send my oldest off to college with my eating habits and my exercises habits and I am afraid for her. She is already 30 pounds overweight. We visited the campus…let me tell you these kids have the best food available from 7 am until midnight, 7 days a week. All the ice cream they want…huge portions…all the soda pop they want…all the desserts they want…I am scared for my daughter that she will follow my footsteps…
So my friends on March 13 I hope you send me a special thought as I wait for my turn to have the opportunity of a lifetime so that I can bring that hope back home to my daughter, family and friends.

Take Care,
Camille

Hey Friends!

Just got back from the gym, burned 812 calories. I had a friend ask me why I was not extremely sore for all I do. I said, “Well, after I work out I drink a bottle of Designer Whey Protein Water”. Generally when a person my size works out we are just about dying in pain the next day. Now, don’t get me wrong, I am achy but not sore. I contribute that to drinking the Protein Water and if I am out of the water I mix a 2GO pack in my water bottle. It really helps you recover.

The Biggest Loser show was a hoot this week! Some pretty thick tension on the ranch… ya think? I don’t know, I would do what ever I had to do to stay as long as possible on the ranch so GO RED! I really would not even care about the money. I would be more concerned with trying to get the most out of my time there so I could bring what I learned home to stay healthy. I get to the gym at least 5 days a week and at least 30 minutes up to 90 minutes each time. I really wished I had a home gym, then I could get in much more time when a moment was open like while dinner was cooking or after kids in bed or before they get up.

One of my faults is wanting to be too perfect. For example, I will draw up a schedule for eating, exercise, house work, my jobs etc. and when it does not go exactly the way I plan I give up. When the house is not perfectly clean (which is most of the time) I really get upset but because its not perfect I don’t do anything. I am typically an ‘all or nothing person’. So this time I am setting simple goals for my health.

A simple goal… eating enough calories at breakfast.

In Bob Harper’s book “Are you ready”, he says your breakfast calories should be between 400-600 calories. All meals should have protein, carbs and good fats. He also says to eat every four hours… have to work on that one!

My 17 year old daughter, Sue and I are really trying to get to the gym as often as possible. She has a goal. We bought her prom dress purposely a size too small. Her goal is to lose 15 pounds to fit in the dress. I as her mom have to encourage her and be a good example.

Take Care friends, remember to bring your Designer Whey Protein Water to the gym with you and when some one asks where you get it from…you say from the best protein makers in the world…Designer Whey!

Hey Friends,

Back from vacation and back to reality. We had a great time. It was cold in Florida; we wore our winter coats to the beach! We took a boat out to watch for dolphins. We were able to spot few dolphins and it was one of the warmest days we had. Kids swam with the dolphins on another adventure but it was only 58 degrees so they were just a bit little cold. My older two kids did indoor sky diving, lots of fun! One thing I noticed on vacation is I do not over eat; nor am I stressed. I feel like having my kids live out of a suit case and only a few toys. I don’t know why but my kids do not trash grandma’s trailer. My conclusion is a few things and that is at home they do not respect our home; they have too many clothes and way too many toys, too much TV and not enough fun. Now to bring the vacation behavior back in our home!

I finally got to watch the Biggest Loser show. I missed the first one because we were in Florida and did not have access to TV. But I did get to watch the 2nd show and am very excited for the new contestants. Their success is my hope. The difference between the contestants and me is they have a support system, they have the education, they have the equipment and the trainers. So I have to figure out how to have such a system.

I did join our local Fitness 19 and I can tell, physically, I am improving every time I go. It feels good to accomplish exercising. Sometimes I wish my family would step aside and make sure I get the time to go more often. It would be even better if I could have a treadmill at home but at this point we can’t afford it so at the gym it has to be. Fitness 19 is only $12.00 a month per person so it’s affordable. I am proud to say I was able to walk on the treadmill for 5 miles at an incline 4.0-4.5 and the rate of 3.0-3.5 and I burned over 1000 calories!

Today, Fox Reality had a Biggest Loser Marathon from Season 4 when Bill Germanakos won. I wonder what ever happened to Kim the trainer.

Some cool tips I wrote down…

If it had a mother it is protein.
All meals and snacks should have a combination of Carbs, Protein and Fat.
If your body is burning sugar it is not burning fat.
Anything is possible if you put in the work.

Remember to eat, move, then rest. I used to move, eat, then rest. I had it wrong. It’s all about moving forward and working toward our mark. For years I ate next to nothing and now have learned that is not the right way. You have to eat!

Oh! oh! oH! OH! I figured out a cookie recipe using Designer Whey Vanilla Protein Powder.

Designer Whey Chocolate Chip Cookies
Kid tested!
Makes about 3 dozen

½ cup butter (room temperature)
½ cup Sun Crystals (new stevia/cane mix) or splenda
2 tablespoon regular brown sugar or 1 tablespoon brown sugar splenda
2 large egg whites
1 teaspoon real vanilla extract
1 ½ cups of Designer Whey Vanilla Protein Powder
½ teaspoon baking soda (you can add an extra ¼ teaspoon if you like puffy cookies)
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon milk (2 tablespoons if you like thinner cookies)
½ cup semi-sweet chocolate mini-chips

Preheat oven to 375. In a medium mixing bowl, beat butter and sun crystals or slenda until well blended. Add the egg whites and vanilla; beat well. In a separate bowl mix the Designer Whey Powder, baking soda, salt, slowly add to the butter mix along with the milk until well blended. Stir in the mini chocolate chips. Drop by using a teaspoon onto an ungreased non-stick cookie sheet. Bake 7-8 minutes. Remove from pan right away onto a cooling rack, Cool completely. Enjoy!

Peanut Butter Version

Add ½ cup peanut butter
Increase baking soda by ¼ teaspoon
Increase milk to 2 tablespoons
Omit the chocolate chips if you want
Smash down with a fork making criss-cross design

When you first take the cookies out of oven they have the consistency similar to cake but let sit over night out and they will be crispy. It is true you can replace flour with Designer Whey Vanilla Protein Powder in baking! Yey Whey!

Have a great week friends. Watch Biggest Loser Tuesdays!

Camille

Hey Friends,

I had to take a few days to absorb the Biggest Loser Finale.

I am just amazed. Danny and losing as much as he did…over 200 pounds in 7 months! That’s about a pound a day. To accomplish that, you have to have total cooperation from your family and friends. I need that. I started a weight loss group just for those of us in the Grand Rapids area in Facebook. You can become my friend, just look me up, Camille Gibson. Designer Whey also has a fan page as well. Start a local group of your own. The Biggest Loser Show said many times how much having supports helps. Oh, did you hear Danny’s song? It’s only 99 cents and part of the proceeds goes to make a wish foundation. His new website is http://www.thedannycahill.com . I think Danny looks a lot like Mel Gibson. What do you think?

I felt bad for my girl Liz. She worked hard to be one of the final three. I think Amanda was picked because America chose her in the beginning. I am happy for her as well. I was amazed at all the at home players. I think the one I least recognized was Julio.wow! What a difference! Whey to go Rebecca! You did an awesome job! I can’t believe the next season is only a few weeks away in January.

I am proud of myself! I signed up for at Fitness 19 to work out Monday, Wednesday, Friday. My husband encouraged me and my daughter to just go and he made the time for us to do it. I have been walking 3 miles in one hour on the treadmill and my daughter did 3.2 on the elliptical in 45 minutes. I need this equipment in my home! Life Fitness is having a contest to win a home gym and I entered on Monday. Send to Life Fitness “pick Camille’s essay” good vibes would ya? I love the Life Fitness treadmill. It told me what heart rate I needed to lose fat and it took my pulse then adjusted itself to keep my heart rate at the level it needed to be. Nice not to have to think, I just kept walking and the machine did all the figuring! What’s great is because my heart rate did not go too high I was able to keep my breath and finish the work out. That felt good to do. Now, I just have to keep doing it!!

I don’t know about you but Christmas is sneaking up on me. I am far from being ready. Our tree gets decorated on December 15th every year. That’s my oldest’s birthday and it’s now a 17 year tradition. Though her sisters would have like to decorate the tree when we got it this weekend. It was cute, we got our tree and it was soaking wet and full of snow so my youngest 2 suggested we blow dry the tree with a hair dryer. FUNNY!

Well Friends, I am trying… are you? Drink your whey… every day.

Camille
