I like to come up with interesting concoctions with the designer whey products. I am a pretty busy mom and sometimes I don’t have time to make a ’shake’ meal in the blender so I came up with this great quick whey drink mixture.

16 oz of water

2 oz real orange juice

2 oz 100% cranberry juice

1 scoop of 100 calorie Strawberry Flavored Designer Whey

Whisk the power mix into the water until a little froth is on top, whisk in juices and some ice cubes and enjoy your energizing drink. This really hits the spot!

I think I will start getting my creative hat on and work on some recipes with Designer Whey products for quick healthy snack meals for us busy folks out here.

Have a nice whey day!

Well Friends the weekend is over. I always like Mondays. Mondays to me are a new start and I am back on track. My daughter joined medical weight loss plan which is good for her but expensive products…we will supplement the Designer Whey Products instead of the medical weight loss powders to help the cost. My daughter is almost 16 and about 30 pounds over weight. The hardest part for me, as mom, is she told the counselor that the reason she wanted to lose weight was because she did not want to suffer like her mom…that is a real deal down in the gut painful thing to hear. My daughter is worried she will be look like me…fat! And at this stage that is not the prettiest thing standing on this earth…that is going to change! I want my daughters, all 3 of them, to say they want to be just like mom…healthy, fit, strong and cute too.

On My Whey!

Well Friends I am 3 pounds away from the 30 pound mark. I contribute that to having the Designer Whey products in my eating plan as well as daily exercise. I did not make my 10 pound mark before the 10th of the month but I am happy for the loss as I really was not on my plan as well as I should have been. I will meet my goal next month!!! I can do it, I know I can.

I was looking at my kid’s school hot lunch menu. We need to wake our schools up! Mac and cheese, nachos, hot dogs, pizza, high fat, high calorie, high salt foods. I allow my kids one school meal a week and pack them healthy lunches the rest of the week. We all should start complaining about the food choices the schools are making for our kids. Our kids are getting fatter and fatter. I would rather have a price increase then to continue to feed our precious kids junk!

After school snacks; I make my kids a “shake” using the Designer Whey chocolate flavor. I doctor it up a tad by adding, low fat milk, real vanilla and a little raw sugar or real honey and they love it and I noticed one great thing…NO WHINING! Whey to Go!

Have a healthy day and give your kids their whey!

Remember those who died in the terrorist attacks and our brave soldiers fighting this war!

This will be the first full week my kids are in school. I do miss them but not the chaos. It’s nice to develop and stick to my healthy routines and to be able to accomplish my goals. I am feeling good again and even found another walking partner to keep me accountable.

So my advice today is to find accountability friends who will help you achieve your weight loss goals. Be sure to have a Designer Whey shake instead of grabbing a candy bar!

Hope this finds you a healthy day and drink your Designer Whey!

Well, kids been in school 2 days now. I am starting to get myself in a good routine and enjoying the quite times. I have been increasing my activities over the last few weeks but the weight has not been coming off. So I am wondering if I am building muscle and because the inches are coming off. I hope so. I hope to see the scale moving again. It is hard when you weigh and the scale had not budged when you know you are doing the right things for a healthier you. I continue to use Designer Whey in my eating plan. I did miss a few days and boy did it make it difficult to stay on my eating plan. I swear this stuff works and helps you keep on a good and healthy plan. When I use my whey I do not have uncontrolled cravings for junk!

Keep moving!

Hello Friends! Happy Memorial Day.

As we remember our heroes who set us free in the great ol’ USA maybe in our thoughts we could remember how we were as kids. As I watch my kids I envy their energy and resilience. One thing I noticed is how much they move, playing running, tossing a ball, swimming, riding bike…always on the move.

For those of us who have a few pounds or two or a hundred we need to remember to have fun and play, toss a ball, go swimming, ride our bikes on a daily bases. Feed our self like we feed our kids, the portions, the better choices, and the balance. I have to say, I feed my kids better then myself. I want to avoid the pain and suffering I went through as a kid being the fat kid, last to be picked on the team, no energy to go out and play with my friends, life that I lived through as a kid. So get moving like a kid, have fun!

I am going to resist today. I will eat healthy and use my Designer Whey products to get through the holiday healthy. Going to put some burgers on the grill and play WITH my kids instead of watching them play.

Have a healthy day and drink your Whey even on holidays.

Hello Friends,

Camille from Michigan here. I hope this finds you well. Last weekend was a blast. My husband is an amazing guitarist and played in a weekend gig. We had a great time of fun and music. I have to admit I have been slacking off my plan and I tell ya…I don’t feel as well. I need to get my butt in gear and get back on plan and get moving more. I have blogged about how much better I feel when I routinely do daily activities but why don’t I do it? I think its not being accountable to anyone. So I need to campaign for more accountability friends to keep myself on track.

I only lost ½ pound last weigh in…bummer, but my fault for not staying on plan. I often ask why do I sabotage myself??? Work so hard to only fail? NO WAY! I am not going to fail. With friends, activities and my Designer Whey, I will not fail.

I read an interesting article about 9 foods you should NOT to feed your kids or yourself.

1. Chicken Nuggets- Yes our favorite fast food quickie we all give our kids. Know what you are really feeding your kids! They consist of compressed fat, tons of sodium, high fructose corn syrup and chicken parts that are bleached to look like ‘white’ meat. A 5 piece chicken nuggets at our favorite arch fast food restaurant has 630 calories and 33 grams of fat! Not including the sugar soaked fries and soda, plus a sundae…your kids can have about 1000 calories just at that one meal.

2. Sugary Cereal- Remember ‘wheat’ and ‘whole wheat’ are if different worlds. You want whole wheat or whole grains. All sugary cereals have hydrogenated oils, artificial colors or chemical preservatives, including some granolas. READ the labels. Sugary cereals lead to A.D.D. like behaviors then drop your kids to a low like a depression mood… Feed your kids a good breakfast…you will help their life!

3. Lunchmeat and Hotdogs- Whaaaaa I love this stuff and kids love it too but it’s not good for them or you! They’re full of nitrates and carcinogenics! Kids who eat 12 hot dogs a month are at risk nine times more for leukemia! They can have 38 grams of fat causing obesity in our kids.

4. Juice and juice-flavored drinks- huh juice? Well, other then vitamin c juice contains no healthy fiber that kids need! Juice flavored drinks are full of sugar and artificially flavors. Kids should only have about 6 ounces of 100% juice a day unless you make it yourself from a juicer then up to 12 ounces is good. I know my kids drink way more then that.

5. French Fries- High in calories, high in fat, high sodium, low nutrition. To top it off when you heat starchy foods at high temperatures a chemical reaction called acrylamide which is a toxic substance that has cancer causing properties!

6. Chips, cheetos, doritoes…geez can’t have any good stuff! But look what is in it… more sodium then an adult should have in one day, saturated fats, the low fat chips contain olestra (bad for you).           Instead make air popcorn, cut up veggies or fruit. That way you can control what you put on it. Try parmesan cheese on popcorn.

7. Fruit leather (roll-ups)- full of sugar and artificial ingredients. Beware of the word fruit on a box! Fruit should be bought in the produce department not the candy isle

8. Doughnuts- whaaaaaaa I love doughnuts and so do my kids but they are full of sugar and fat and trans fats too. Same with pop tarts, muffins and cinnamon buns, BAD! BAD! BAD! for you and your kids.

9. Commercial pizza- make your own- commercial pizza is full of preservatives, fat, sodium, and tons of cancer causing nitrates! Make pizza on English muffins and let the kids make their own! It’s fun and much better for your kids. You can make your own whole wheat crust too. Use chicken instead of fat and greasy pepperoni

Well, I need a butt kickin! Got to get back on plan and do my daily activities!

Have a great healthy day and drink your Whey!

Hump Day! I usually do pretty well Sunday-Friday, weekends are hard for me, and by mid-week I am still going strong. Weekends are hard for me; I don’t feel like cooking or eating healthy. I wanna eat what I wanna eat and that has given me a dunlap. What’s a dunlap you ask? That is where your gut done lap your…well you can guess what ‘your’ is. This is where my Designer Whey products come handy. The kids can fix themselves a sandwich and I can whip up a healthy meal. I really enjoy all the flavors that Designer Whey makes.

I hope as the holiday comes in 12 days, I can be strong and resist. I have not been on plan as I should. I am holding my weight and not gaining, which is good. I am getting more activity and that is good. Discipline has not been my strongest access in life and that has brought on trouble but I like to think that also brought me strength to make it through anything.

Hope this finds you well.

Hello Friends,

Let’s talk about fiber. I have been learning a lot of things I never knew while on my journey to a healthier me. I would like to share with you what I have learned about fiber.

Alright, we all know fiber makes you poop but did you know that fiber is also important for digestion, keeping your blood sugar at a more even level, nourishes your colon which produces acids that provides fuel for your liver and plays an important role in metabolism?

There are 2 main types of fiber, insoluble fiber is made up of plant cell walls and it can not be dissolved in water. It has a good laxative affect. Then there is soluble fiber which is called polysaccharides (carbohydrates that contain 3 or more molecules of simple carbohydrates) it has an effect of lowering cholesterol and blood sugar levels.

Some Facts About Fiber

  • Fiber keeps stool soft and keeps the contents of the intestines moving
  • A good diet consist of 25-30 grams of fiber a day (Americans eat half of that)
  • Bran has the highest fiber content
  • Fiber binds with fats of which contain calories then carries them through the colon and keeps them from being absorbed
  • Only plants produce fiber.
  • A good weight loss plan should have about 45 grams of fiber daily
  • Each gram of fiber can flush 7 calories (do the math!)

Designer Whey Weight Control has 5 grams of fiber….hmmm 7 X 5 = 35… I love the French vanilla in my morning coffee. I am a late morning eater and Designer Whey gets my body moving and energy flying before I even take a bite of food.

I may not know what all of that means but my thinking is if I am getting enough fiber which absorbs fats allowing it to pass on though not absorbing and planting itself on my fat butt, keeps my blood sugar even so I do not have that sugar high then crash to crave a candy bar…its has to be a good thing for weight loss and my health!

Have a healthy day, get enough fiber and drink your whey!
