Hey Friends!

I know you all are watching our favorite show that our favorite protein powders.…Oh yeah baby… The Biggest Loser show has begun and Designer Whey is the chosen protein meal! I love it and it’s good for us too!

Biggest Loser Proteins 10oz and 2GO

Biggest Loser Proteins 10oz and 2GO

This season is so full of emotion, challenges and people over coming difficult past life experiences that have contributed to their weight. For me, I have never experienced being thin. I was a fat baby, a fat child, a fat teen, a fat adult, a fat mom and am a fat wife. Biggest Losers Season 8 sure has had a ton of information. So much information that I had to watch the shows two times to get the info down. I wanted to share some of my notes.

·        You can do it!
·        Realize how ill we are being obese
·        Let go of the past
·        Say you deserve to be happy
·        A lot of pounds are wounds that need healing
·        Must have plans… eating plan, exercise plan and recovery plan
·        A calorie is a unit of energy
·        Read the labels
·        Weigh your food on a scale
·        Keep a food journal…all food and all drink
·        Plan 3 meals and 2 snacks a day
·        Prepare meals ahead of time for the entire week
·        Use Ziploc bags for prepared meals and mark each meal
·        Proportion control every meal
·        3-4 ounces of meat
·        Cook your food by baking, poaching, steaming, grilling on non-stick grill or broil
·        When eating pasta eat ½ cup and fill in the rest with veggies
·        Snacks with protein are a must
·        No Soda
·        Weight loss foundation for any plan…calories in calories out
·        The way we manipulate our diet will determine the most calories out before we even start to exercise
·        To accelerate calories out…exercise
·        Circuit training for a variety
·        Protein refuels muscles, gives fullness feeling, and maintains blood sugar
·        After you workout you must get protein in to keep the body burning calories. Bob suggests 2 scoops of the Designer Whey Biggest Loser Protein Powder with 16 ounces of water
·        The contestants are just like you. They are doing it and you can do it too!

Well, friends keep watching… keep drinking (your designer whey that is)

I am on my Whey!
Camille

Hey Friends,

I know you are as happy as I am that the kiddies are back in school! Oh the last few weeks I was ready for them to go back to school. The kids were sick of each other and I was on my last nerve. I love my kids with my whole heart but sometimes us moms just need a break.

Hey, next week is all of our favorite inspirational show! Yep, that is right September 15th is coming up soon. I am excited to watch and see my favorite Designer Whey drinks help people just like me, people who could afford to lose a few or 2 or 3 pounds…lol. Hope you watch The Biggest Loser along with me!

Guess what the weight loss fairy delivered to my house??? My protein water!proteinwater_16oz_cranapple_lg I will rate according to my tastes. In 4th place is the Orange Mango… I thought too intense orange taste. Maybe like the taste of baby aspirin or very strong tang.  Which I am not so fond of. But for you, you may love it. Probably those of us over 40 can not handle such intense flavor. To me, it was OK but not my favorite flavor of the protein water. In 3rd place is the Cranapple…the only reason it’s not my favorite is I am not an apple juice person. I do enjoy cranberry so for me it was tolerable. In 2nd place is the Pomegranate flavored Protein Water…I very much enjoyed the light fruitful flavor. Camille’s #1 pick is the Blue Raspberry… to me it is perfect! Light, yet flavorful, not too sweet and is very refreshing. My only problem is my 16 year old daughter DRANK all of my Blue Raspberry and Pomegranate Protein Water! UGH! I went to take a bottle with me to work and ALL GONE! Luckily, I found some at our local grocery store.

I have to apologize to all my friends reading this blog. Anyone who reads this blog is my friend! I promise to blog more often, summer is hectic with kids home and watching my friends’ children as well, plus my cleaning jobs. By the time I sat down I was spent. But now that school is back in session and The Biggest Loser Show will be on, I can get back into routine. When you are trying to lose weight routine is essential. I share that with you so I can share things I am doing to get back in the flow of losing weight.

One thing I do now is to always keep a 2-quart pitcher filled with my favorite Biggest Loser Protein Powder both the Red Raspberry and the Blue Blueberry. They only have 40 calories, great flavor and fiber to take the edge off when you are looking for something sweet to have. I put 6 scoops in a 2-quart pitcher and keep in the fridge, ready when I need it. Sometimes, I mix the two flavors for a different twist. Enjoy a cup before dinner and you will eat less, try it! I also

The Biggest Loser Protein Powder Vanilla Bean

The Biggest Loser Protein Powder Vanilla Bean

LOVE the Biggest Loser Vanilla Bean Flavored Powder. I like to make a creamy shake when the ice cream man is trying to stop by! The chocolate is a great treat, as well, and makes a great meal supplement.  I enjoy adding the vanilla bean to cold coffee; add ice and you have a great low calorie, delicious, ice coffee! Some of those ice coffees can have 400 calories or more! Compared to 50 calories with the Biggest Loser Powders there is no comparison and they are YUMMY! Don’t forget to put a case of bottled water in your car (please recycle or refill) along with a bunch of 2GO packets, they really take the edge off when you are temped to stop by a drive thru, when you know you should not eat fast food.

You can enjoy any of Designer Whey’s Protein Powders. Whether you are trying to lose weight, maintain a healthy weight or building muscle, it’s all good! It works too! I lost 30 pounds in a year. Not a huge change like the Biggest Loser Show but progress; and we need to accept any progress as good! Make your kids a healthy shake after school instead of cookies and milk! I know my kids act a lot better after a Designer Whey Protein shake instead of climbing the walls after cookies. Calmer kids equal calmer parents; and that my friend is a happier home. How about starting their day with a shake at breakfast! They will think you flipped making them a shake for breakfast! But studies show good protein in the morning gets their brain ready for thinking. Kids who have a good breakfast do better in school!

Alright Friends,

I think about you and hope you are healthier today then you were the day before. Drink you whey every day!

Your friend,

Camille

DW Weight Control French Vanilla

Hey Friends,

I am so sorry to have disappeared on you all. I know I had some of you wondering. All is well, Friends. I have had the busiest 3 weeks ever! I could not even find the time and energy to blog and that is NOT like me. It has been one thing after another. End of the year school things, party after party it seems, death in the family bomb…bomb…but things are looking better and I am finally feeling less stressed. I thought I would gain everything back! But I am glad to say under all the pressure and stress I stayed the same weight since I last posted. The good thing is my biggest size pant (28 Plus Size) now can be slip off with out being unbuttoned. YAY!

I could have not made it with my weight control powders.  I start every day with a glass of milk, 1 scoop of vanilla flavored weight control and 1 scoop of chocolate flavored weight control powder. Grab some fruit and coffee and I am good to go for the morning. I still carry in my car the 2GO packets. Every where I go the 2GOs go too!

I have to admit it has been hard. I am working by cleaning houses, kids school events, even selling some stuff on the worlds largest E auction site, trying to keep it all together and organized has put a lot of stress on my plate. I have to get back to my free diet plan exactly like I had it the first time I lost 8 pounds. I tweaked it too much! I was trying to be perfect and am finding I just need to stick to the plan that was working and not try to have everything perfect.

Oh geez, today I mixed up my morning breakfast and forgot it on the counter so I stopped at a gas station and they had those be slim so fast drinks…I used to love those OMG YUCK! It coated my tongue, extremely sweet, slimy in my throat and I felt sick after drinking it. I used to buy the ready made cans by the case…no wonder they never helped me.

Designer Whey Powders are pure tasting, they never leave a film on your tongue and all the powders are great tasting as well. I will never go back to anything else. I would be better off skipping the meal then drinking those awful ready made in the can get you slim very fast garbage!

Cool thing, my husband said I am looking good! I am like, huh?, I was not good looking before?? You know us girls can be touchy about that stuff! But it felt good that he commented.

I am not even sure if I posted a comment about the “Biggest Loser” Finale. I thought for sure Mike was going to win but Helen, the little turkey, pulled it off! Good for her, my fellow Michigander! I saw Helen and Tara on the cover of a magazine showing off! I would too. Oh, did you know that Jillian the trainer was ‘The Fat Kid’ in school? My daughter is reading one of her new books about hormones and metabolism. I would have never known that.

Well friends I will try not to be so few and far in-between posting! It’s not fair to you and it’s not good for me. I need my friends cheering me on.

Drink your whey it’s the only way!

Blessings to you,

Camille

Whey Protein, Why You Need It?

It is widely known and accepted that whey protein provides numerous health benefits. You should not be surprised to hear that whey protein improves immune functions by increasing glutathione levels, helps with weight loss, helps increase lean muscle mass, speeds up recovery after exercising [1], stimulates muscle protein synthesis [2], and more…

There are literally hundreds (if not thousands) of studies that you can easily find demonstrating the many stated benefits of whey protein. We got two quick ones here to share with you:

Supplementation with a whey protein hydrolysate enhances recovery of muscle force-generating capacity following eccentric exercise.

Buckley JD, Thomson RL, Coates AM, Howe PR, Denichilo MO, Rowney MK.

Australian Technology Network Centre for Metabolic Fitness and Nutritional Physiology Research Centre, University of South Australia, Adelaide, South Australia, Australia.

The potential of whey protein to speed up recovery following eccentric exercise was evaluated by assessing the recovery of peak isometric torque in this double blind, randomized study. 28 sedentary males had muscle soreness, serum creatine kinase activity, plasma TNF alpha, and peak isometric torque assessed at baseline and after 100 maximal eccentric contractions (ECC) of their knee extensors.

The participants then consumed either a drink containing 25g of whey protein, or a placebo drink, with assessments taken 1, 2, 6 and 24 hours later. The study found that peak isometric torque decreased by 23% following the ECC. However, after 6 hours, peak isometric torque had recovered completely for the whey protein group, leading to the conclusion that whey protein assists with recovery from fatiguing exercises. [1]

Minimal whey protein with carbohydrate stimulates muscle protein synthesis following resistance exercise in trained young men.

Tang JE, Manolakos JJ, Kujbida GW, Lysecki PJ, Moore DR, Phillips SM.

Exercise Metabolism Research Group, Department of Kinesiology, McMaster University, 1280 Main St. West, Hamilton, ON L8S 4K1, Canada.

This study was designed to determine the impact of consuming whey protein on skeletal muscle protein synthesis in the post exercise period. 8 healthy, resistance trained male subjects participated in this double blind randomized crossover trial where they performed a unilateral leg resistance workout consisting of leg extensions and leg presses. One leg was exercised, and the other leg was not acting as a rested comparison.

After the workout, the subjects consumed either a whey protein plus carbohydrate drink, or a carbohydrate drink only. Muscle protein synthesis readings were then taken, and the study found that the whey protein drink group had a greater rate of muscle protein synthesis compared to the carbohydrate only group. They concluded that whey protein with carbohydrates can stimulate a rise in muscle protein synthesis that supports a positive net protein balance. [2]

Designer Whey Taste

As with all protein supplements, taste is one of the more important deciding factors for many. With so many different protein products on the market today, purchasing decisions are typically based on price and taste. Designer Whey protein comes in several different flavors. The flavors I received include chocolate, double chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate peanut caramel.

Chocolate – this is a standard chocolate flavor. It’s easy to mix, goes down smooth, and tastes good.

Vanilla Praline – another standard flavor. It was quite light tasting, and mixed very easily.

Double Chocolate – this was something else! The first sip had me hooked, it tasted simply amazing. I can’t say it tasted twice as good as the chocolate flavor, but it definitely was the best tasting.

Chocolate Peanut Caramel – this tastes very good. But still not quite as good as the double chocolate. It’s very smooth, and easily mixed. Personally, I prefer the pure chocolate flavors more.

Strawberry – this was also quite light tasting, and tastes pretty good, but I prefer all the other flavors over strawberry – probably because I’ve never really liked strawberry flavored protein much in the first place. But compared to some other strawberry flavors I’ve tried in the past, this is still one of the better ones.

Overall, all the Designer Whey flavors tasted excellent, and you should have no problems mixing them at all. I find that they’re very slightly on the light tasting side, or maybe I used a little extra liquid, but either way, the taste is top notch, and by far my favorite would be the double chocolate.

Hey Friends,

Are you as excited as I am seeing ‘my’ Designer Whey being held by Bob the trainer on the “Biggest Loser” show tonight? I was so excited I had to write in! It was so cool. I am very  happy for Designer Whey. They deserve it for having the best and purest protein powders out there. Best of all they keep it affordable for all of us! It takes a lot of guts for a business to rise up so far yet remember us down here struggling with being healthy by keeping their products within a monetary reach for the greater of us. So… a HIGH FIVE to Designer Whey!

biggestloserprotein

Me on the other hand…I have been having 2 difficult days, just all messed up with my eating, almost out of control, probably very close to really screwing up and my only conclusion is that I came off the detox with out a plan. I also was off my Weight Control whey and the cravings have been unbearable. I gave in…sigh. I am too embarrassed to even say how badly but trust me, not good at all. All I got to say is tomorrow is another day…someone please kick my butt back in gear! I am going to bed early so I will wake up to a better attitude. Off to make me a shake to get back on my Designer Whey Plan. If you don’t know it now, Designer Whey has a great diet plan for free…Check it out then you just follow it! Ok Camille, take your own advice! Make a plan…Keep a plan…Drink your Whey and move your body everyday! It’s that simple.

Good Night Friends,

Mar 23, 2009

Well Friends,

I am on day 3 of my detox regimen. Its going pretty good. Day one I ate only fruits, not so bad, I like a variety of fruits. Day two I ate only vegetables. That was a little harder, I don’t like as many veggies. Plus, in the detox regimen you can make French onion soup (no bread or cheese of course) loaded with any veggies your heart desires, except potatoes. You can eat the soup at anytime with the days food plan. Today was mixed vegetables and fruits. The only side effect of eating French onion soup every day, several times a day is… well… when you pass gas it smells like onion soup! LOL. I keep waiting for this huge movement but it has not happened yet. I hope it will be one of those ‘ah ha’ moments, lol.

What’s interesting is I am not craving sugar at all! So that tells me I definitely need more fruit in my diet. I think I consumed so much fruit (which we know is nature’s sugar) that I did not need to crave the candy. Maybe when you crave sugar you simply need to add more fruit to your diet.

I did have a glass of my Lite and Lean powder before I cleaned house. I felt I needed it to make it through four hours of cleaning. Good thing its only 30 calories. My daughter is a trooper; she is following it to the tee. Except she keeps saying she can’t wait until Saturday to eat the donut she put in the freezer from a school party. I do have to hand it to her for not eating the donut, she stuck to her plan. I think I will encourage her to cut in thirds and eat only 1/3. I guess… don’t know. What do you say to not offend you teen daughter??? I did tell her to eat a protein bar before track practice. Maybe that is why she is not having hunger pangs.

Today I cleaned house for four hours straight, walked the dogs then went swimming. I swam 10 laps, back stoke taking a breather between laps, just for a minute.  I take my kids with me to the pool. They are always trying to beat me. They get close, but this big ol’ mama still can out swim them. Well, for one lap anyway. I am sure I could not beat them 2 laps in a row but we will keep that secret to us right…friends????

I hope this finds you healthier then yesterday. Don’t forget to drink your whey every day!

Camille

Hello Friends,

I tell ya, Designer Whey Products rock! These products really help when you are on a weight loss journey. When you contact Designer Whey they are prompt to help answer any questions you have. So not only are they dedicated to a great product but the stand by it, they are happy to assist you. Best of all they want you to succeed in your goals. Whether it is to lose weight, live healthier, or body build they are there for you. They even give you a free diet plan to follow. That just shows you how much confidence they have in their company and products.

Last month I lost 8 pounds. I still have a few to go to catch up to where I left off before all the holiday festivities. I contribute the loss to following my plan which includes drinking my whey. Tonight I really wanted something sweet and so I got out my blender, tossed in a good and ripe banana, added 1 cup of skim milk, a dash a cinnamon, 1 scoop of French Vanilla Weight Control Powder then about 6 ice cubes…turned on that baby and whirled it for a minute or two, poured the mixture in a nice glass….It was soooooo good and satisfying. I almost always have a shake before bed and I swear it helps me sleep better. Guess I am like a baby…lol. I used to suffer really bad from acid reflux now I only have a bout here and there and those bouts are the nights I forget to have my shake!

We are back to the cold here in Michigan…ugh… and I am sure when it gets hot I will complain then too!

Well, friends, night for now. I hope this finds you well and thank you Designer Whey…you’re the best.

Jan 25, 2009

Remember I told you about mall walking? Well, my friend and I went walking Friday and it was a good walk. We talk and share so it is good for me to do that. I have to tell you there was this elderly couple twice my age that just did circles around me. My friend says, “Hey lets keep up with them!” Ok should not be a problem…yeah right…about half way around the mall I was like “I can’t do it…”and my friend says, “me either”…it is a sad day friends, when you can not keep up with someone in their 80’s. I envy that couple and am totally embarrassed that I could not even keep up a ½ lap of the mall. The mall is .8 miles per round and we did 4 laps so 3.2 miles in an hour. I don’t know if that is good or bad but I think if the elderly couple was passing me up its not so great. The good thing is I walked.
I like to say a funny thing or 2 when I blog, it’s usually something that is humorous to me so I hope I don’t offend anyone by making fun. I was thinking about “How to know you are too fat” and this is my personal reason of knowing that I am too fat…

You know you’re too fat when…
You will leave your shoes untied so you don’t have to bend down to tie them

You know you’re too fat when…
You are walking and an elderly couple can pass you in their wheel chair

You know you’re too fat when…
You have dunlap…

awww you don’t know what “dunlap”is? Well dunlap is when your gut dunlap your…
and I will leave it at that.

You know you’re too fat when…
Your young kids offer to hide the cookies from you

You know you’re too fat when…
You say, I can’t believe I ate the whole thing…every day

TADA! Thank you, thank you very much.

My youngest suffers from anxiety issues and when she is going through a bout of anxiety she can not eat…this last bout was over a bully at school and she lost 4 pounds…once we figured what the problem was she was able to open up and tell us but still could not eat. One day she asked if she could have a vanilla protein shake. I made it for her and she was finally able to drink it. I think because of the easy digestible protein she was able to keep it down and that allowed her stomach to be able to accept food again. So hats off to my Designer Whey Protein!

The scale has finally started to move down and that makes me so happy. I am on my ‘whey’ again.

So with that I will close and hope this finds you well and healthier then the day before.
Take care,
Camille from Michigan

Hello Friends,

Hope this finds you well. I sure am tired of the snow here in Michigan. It has been the second snowiest year so far and I am ready for spring. It’s hard to get out and be active in this weather.

One of the questions I have been thinking of is…

What is holding me back from getting healthy?

My first thought is…time. There just doesn’t not seem to be enough time for me. I am always doing for others. Mostly my kids and family and a house keeping job I have. By the end of the night I am spent, someone said, “well, just get up earlier and give that time for you”…I am like yeah right…I already stay up late trying to get everything that needs to get done and forgetting half of what I set out to do for that day. I barely can get up to start the day, but with kids to get off to school it’s one thing I must do.

My second thought is lack of desire…I don’t get up thinking… hmmmm I’m gunna jump on my treadmill and run 10 miles or yummmm… salads for breakfast, lunch and dinner… I don’t know how people do it…where does that desire come from? I like cookies, sweets, chips and junk food…I do not know how to change that. I don’t like to be out of breath or sweat like some national rain forest. I know I should and need to do this but finding the motivation and time seem to hold me back. I need to over come that.

My third thought is stress…Mostly over trying to get everything that needs to get done…done. One thing that stresses me most is being on time. I like to be on time…my family doesn’t seem to care unless it is something they want to get to on time. My biggest pet peeve is being late for Church…my family, if they sit down after the music has started…no big deal.

Well, I thought I would share my thoughts on the first question that I need to search myself for the answers to. Now to find the solutions to the things that hold me back for losing weight and keeping it off.
