DESIGNER WHEY, Being a bachelor, and a great lie...
This is the story of a bachelor, a jug of Designer Whey Chocolate and the best lie ever…
Sometime in late 2004 I decided I was going to lose a ton of weight by new years. I was going to work out, build muscle cut fat and look like $1 Million dollars. The plan was simple, I’m single, I don’t have a girlfriend, I have a ton of time, I want to be healthy.
Fast forward a few months to early March 2005. I’ve gone to the gym maybe 5 times. I drank a shake of the DW and it tasted like Chocolate milk and I liked it. But that’s as far as it went. Still there the DW sat on top of the fridge. I kept it there because I figured if I couldn’t at least be healthy I can at least pretend I’m trying when people come over.
On a random Friday night I went out clubbing on Sunset. From the get go this was an extremely fun evening. My friends and I all went together and got right into the club. The music was great and we were pretty liquored up. Things were going my way so well that when I noticed what I thought was a glance from a woman across the bar I didn’t hesitate to go talk to her.
I sauntered over to this woman with my most stylish and confident look. I sat down right next to her and without even looking directly at her I started talking. Then my head turned and I realized, holy smokes this woman was a 10 at least. Immediately I knew she was completely and utterly out of my league. Bombshell doesn’t do this woman justice. But it was too late, I had to suck it up and give it my best shot.
I actually managed to hold a conversation with her for a few minutes. A couple of quick shots helped keep her attention. Turns out she was a fitness trainer in Malibu. I told her, and this is the lie, that I’d actually been to her club a few times to see if I wanted to join. That it ended up being too far away and now I go to another gym elsewhere. And then for some reason I mentioned the jug of Designer Whey on top of my fridge. Weird thing is, the jug caused a little spark in her eye. I couldn’t really place why it did but then she said words I’ll never forget, “you know, if you drink that stuff after strenuous activity you’ll recover faster”. Now to most people that is a pretty innocuous comment, but to me it was an opening. “Any strenuous activity?” I replied. Four hours later we are lying in my bed drinking shakes of DW and running our own experiments on it’s effects with relation to recovery time.
Conclusion: I’m still with her and now I really do go to the gym all the time. I did eventually fess up that before her I had no interest in fitness. And we still drink a shake after “personal time”. If I were you guys, I’d look into that angle for your next round of research. We’d volunteer. ;-)
